Vacation Rentals or Airbnb

Our hotel also manages several vacation rental properties in the area that are within walking distance to our venue.

Also, there are several other Airbnbs off the main strip of town, as well as up into the mountain canyon.

Best Western Vista Inn

While a Best Western is not usually a go-to hotel, this particular hotel has won awards and is just a short 6 minute drive from The Surf.

Mt. Princeton Hot Springs

Relaxing hot spring resort with on-site private cabins, apartments, and hotel rooms that include access to the river, pools, and spa.

(~15 min drive from the venue)

How to get there

• Kayak is a good spot to look for rental cars at the Denver airport.
• Turo is another great option for car rentals if you want to chose a specific car or don’t have a credit card.
Driving to Buena Vista from Denver is an easy two to three hour drive with few winding roads and no steep cliffs. The drive through the mountains is very beautiful, so we recommend doing it during the day if you can!

Amtrak offers a bus from Union Station in Downtown Denver to Buena Vista for $23 each way.
If you’re coming from DEN airport, you can take this train at the airport to Union Station (~0 min) for $10.

Hiking

Buena Vista is on the other side of the same mountains you’ll see in Aspen & Crested Butte which are home to some of the most outstanding hikes in Colorado.

Moderate (6.1 mi / ~3 hrs)

Hot Springs

Mt. Princeton Hot Springs is our favorite close by hot springs resort. They have both natural springs (little pools in the river below) and spa pools fed by the natural spring. $40/person for a full day pass and its only 10 min away from the venue!
